How it works

The Nerativ
Methodology

Every Nerativ engagement runs the same four-phase process. No shortcuts, no black boxes. Here is exactly what we do, in sequence, and why each step matters for LLM citations and search visibility.

Principles

Three rules we never break

01

Human operators only

Every post, comment, and reply is written and submitted by a human. No bots, no AI-generated mass posting, no account farms. Reddit detects automation and removes it. Removed content provides zero SEO or citation value. Every fake account we didn't use is one thread that won't get deleted in three months.

02

Community value first

Content that gets upvoted ranks on Google and gets retrieved by AI models. Content that gets downvoted disappears. The content we create must be something the community would upvote even if they knew it was seeded. That standard is not generosity, it is quality control for the SEO and citation outcomes we're after.

03

Measure everything with Peec AI

LLM citation frequency is measurable. Peec AI tracks how often your brand is cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overview responses. We baseline before we start and report monthly. If the program is working, the data shows it. If it isn't, we adjust before another month passes.

Phase 01

Subreddit Intelligence

Weeks 1-2 of every engagement

A

Subreddit mapping

We identify every subreddit where your target buyers are active, including the obvious choices and the niche communities that dominate specific keyword sets. For a fintech compliance tool, that might mean r/fintech, r/compliance, r/RegTech, and two smaller communities where compliance officers actually discuss vendor decisions.

B

Google rank analysis

We run your target keyword set through Google to find which subreddits are already ranking and which specific thread formats are winning. Not all subreddits rank equally. A community with 50,000 members but high engagement can outrank a 2M-member general community for commercial queries.

C

LLM retrieval audit

Using Peec AI, we run your target queries through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overview to document who is being cited, from which sources, and with what sentiment. This establishes baseline citation share and identifies the specific gaps the program will close.

D

Competitor thread analysis

We audit the Reddit threads where your top three competitors are being mentioned, analyze what's driving positive versus negative sentiment, and identify content angles where your brand has a differentiated story to tell.

Output: Subreddit prioritization list, keyword-to-thread mapping, baseline citation report, competitor Reddit sentiment analysis. This deck is reviewed with the client before Phase 2 begins.

Phase 02

Content Strategy

Weeks 3-4 of every engagement

A

Thread architecture design

Ranking Reddit threads follow structural patterns. We design the question format, reply structure, and engagement architecture for each target thread type. The Trojan Horse architecture, where only a subset of replies mention the client, is the standard template. It preserves the authenticity signal that makes threads rank and keeps them from being removed.

B

Content calendar

We produce a 30-day content calendar covering every post, reply, and engagement touchpoint, organized by subreddit and keyword target. Each piece is written at practitioner level, matching the vocabulary and tone of the community. Marketing copy that reads like a press release gets removed by mods. Practitioner-level writing gets upvoted.

C

AEO content layer

Where the client's own site needs structured content for AI retrieval, we develop it here. FAQ schema, Speakable schema, and direct-answer-formatted content that gives AI models a clean, citable response to the questions your buyers ask. This layer of the strategy works alongside the Reddit presence, not instead of it.

Output: 30-day content calendar, complete post and reply drafts, AEO content recommendations for the client's own site. Client reviews and approves before execution begins.

Phase 03

Seeding and Engagement

Months 1-3+ of execution

A

Human posting by established accounts

Nerativ operators use established Reddit accounts with posting history and karma in the relevant communities. New accounts posting brand mentions immediately are flagged by both moderators and Reddit's spam detection. Established accounts operate credibly and sustain the thread engagement that drives ranking.

B

Trojan Horse thread execution

A Trojan Horse thread opens with a genuine question or discussion prompt, then receives replies from multiple perspectives, including neutral, mixed, and positive takes on various solutions. Only some replies mention the client. The thread reads as authentic community discussion because it mostly is. The client mention earns credibility by proximity to the genuine content around it.

C

Ongoing engagement management

Threads that gain organic replies need monitoring and participation. Organic community members asking follow-up questions, challenging claims, or requesting more detail need responses that sustain the thread's value and protect the brand mention. We manage ongoing engagement for active threads throughout the engagement.

Phase 04

Measurement and Iteration

Monthly throughout the engagement

A

Peec AI citation tracking

Monthly Peec AI reports showing citation frequency across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overview, broken down by query, sentiment, and competitor share. Citation growth is the primary KPI. Secondary metrics include Reddit thread rankings on Google and branded search volume trends.

B

Thread performance analysis

We review which threads are ranking, which are driving AI citations, and which have plateaued. High performers get reinforced with additional engagement. Low performers get analyzed for structural or content adjustments. The calendar for the next month is shaped by what the data shows, not by repeating the same approach.

C

Strategy review and next month plan

Every monthly report comes with a reviewed strategy for the next 30 days. New keyword opportunities, emerging subreddit activity, competitor moves, and AI model behavior changes all inform the updated approach. The program compounds over time because each month builds on what worked the previous month.

Why it works

The compound effect of durable Reddit content

Reddit threads do not decay the way social media posts do. A well-structured thread from six months ago continues to rank on Google and be retrieved by AI models. The value compounds rather than evaporates.

Most B2B marketing spend produces activity that disappears the moment you stop spending: sponsored posts stop showing when the budget runs out, display ads vanish when the campaign ends. Reddit threads age into authority. The content seeded in month one is still contributing to citations and rankings in month twelve.

The result is that Reddit marketing programs produce compounding returns over time, unlike virtually every other B2B marketing channel. The compound benefit is why early movers in each vertical have a meaningful advantage over competitors who start six months later.
